Action:
The combination of trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole secures a synergistic
bactericidal action against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including
penicillinase producing ones. Leptospira, Pseudomonas, Erysipelotrix and
Mycobacterium are not very sensitive. The two components affect the synthesis of
purine and nucleic acids of the bacteria in a different way, resulting in a double
blockade.
Indications:
All primary and secondary bacterial diseases in cattle, calves, pigs dogs and cats., such
as respiratory, gastro-intestinal, genital and urinary infections, mastitis, wound
infections, eye and ear infections.
Administration/dosage:
By intramuscular injection:
In general 1 ml per 20 kg b.w. twice daily during 5 days.
Advised withdrawal times:
meat : 10 days.
milk : 4 days.
Conservation:
Cool (8-15°C), protected from light.
Presentation:
Per 12 vials of 100 ml.
